Ayah 2

Surah Al-Mulk, Ayah 2

Reflection questions:

1. Who is Allah?
2. What is the purpose Allah created life and death?
3. How do you define أحسن عمل; best deeds?
4. When we are tested: when syaitan tempts us, when people deceives us, when we are tired, when we are sick, etc How do we react? What do we say?
5. Are our actions/reactions the best of actions in those situations?

Practical tips:

1. Look at how Prophet SAW acted during the difficult times. What can we learn? What did he do? How did he act?
2. We will make mistakes, but Allah is الغفور: the Most Forgiving so repent to Him.
3. Make du’a to be those who do good and seek refuge from bad deeds and bad character.

It was narrated that ‘Aa’ishah said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “O people, you should do whatever good deeds you can, for Allaah does not get tired (of giving reward) until you get tired. And the most beloved of good deeds to Allaah is that in which a person persists, even if it is little. If the family of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) started to do something, they would persist in it.”
Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 43; Muslim, 782.

Qutbah ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “O Allah, I seek refuge in you from evil character traits, deeds, and desires.”

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ مُنْكَرَاتِ الْأَخْلَاقِ وَالْأَعْمَالِ وَالْأَهْوَاءِ

May Allah enables us to excel in whatever tests that comes our way. May we be able to do good deeds consistently even if it’s little. May Allah accept all our deeds.
