Ayah 10

Surah Al-Mulk, Ayah 10

Reflection Question:

1. Do we want to be of those who regret when it is too late?
2. When we hear a warning about something, do we listen and use our ‘aql? Do we try to understand the message or do we become defensive instead?

Practical tips:

1. Regret and repent now, before it is too late!
2. Listen to the Qur’an and use our ‘aql to understand the message. How? By seeking knowledge from the right sources.
3. The first step is to listen. When you make an effort to listen, you will begin to understand and this in turn will change your actions.

And when the Quran is recited, then listen to it and remain silent, that mercy may be shown to you.
[7:204]

And Allah has sent down water from the cloud and therewith given life to the earth after its death; most surely there is a sign in this for a people who would listen.
[16:65]

Those who listen to the word, then follow the best of it; those are they whom Allah has guided, and those it is who are the men of understanding.
[39:18]

In their histories there is certainly a lesson for men of understanding. It is not a narrative which could be forged, but a verification of what is before it and a distinct explanation of all things and a guide and a mercy to a people who believe.
[12:111]
